Thanks to all the killer machines/panoramic shots taken from the Half-life game engine. It looks like it cost much more.
After tweaking assets they exported from the Half-Life videogame into their Escape From City-17 film, the brothers sent the five-minute short film to execs who had worked on the original game. “They sent us back this e-mail saying, ‘Holy dear God, we’re blown away’ and flew us out to their headquarters to talk about the game,” says Ian Purchase. “That’s when we realized we must be doing something right.”
